NFC - Near Field Communication
Innovision have been involved in Near-Field data communication systems from the start. Innovision has partnered with a major global handset manufacturer to develop "best in class" NFC architectures, designs and silicon implementations to ensure NFC chipsets can achieve not only the technical performance but also the commercial imperatives of cost and physical size.
Hence, Innovision's NFC solutions are fully integrated solutions designed to minimise silicon area, maximise performance and conserve physical space and cost.
Innovision has developed a range of coreware IP that has been optimised for low power implementations and is therefore highly efficient; for example, offering automatic wake-up mode, with less than 10µA battery drain when idle. From its deep knowledge of Near Field RFID Antenna's Innovision has also been able to reduce the number of off-chip components to a minimum, so again preserving power, cost and physical area.
Innovision's NFC offerings ;
- Custom NFC IC design solutions for both single chip implementations or integrated System on Chip (SoC) custom solutions for a range of IC platforms such as Bluetooth, WiFi, UWB, WiMax and more.
- Custom Antenna modelling to enable optimised antenna solutions for ODM/Product manufacturers seeking to efficiently implement NFC devices into their products.
- Topaz - mandated by NFC Forum as the Type 1 NFC Forum Tag Format.
Innovision are a principal member of the NFC Forum and currently chair the Tags and Formats task force working group, helping to develop the future NFC standards for payments, ticketing, peer-to-peer connectivity and service initiation implementations.
