NFC - Near Field Communication

Innovision have been involved in near-field data communication systems from the start. Innovision has partnered with a major global handset manufacturer to develop "best in class" NFC architectures, designs and silicon implementations to ensure NFC chipsets can achieve not only optimised technical performance, small physical size, and low power consumption whilst meeting tight cost targets.

Innovision has developed Gem™ NFC coreware IP that has been optimised for low power implementations and is therefore highly efficient; for example, offering automatic wake-up mode, with less than 10µA battery drain when idle. From its deep knowledge of Near Field RFID Antenna's Innovision has also been able to reduce the number of off-chip components to a minimum, so again preserving power, cost and physical area.

Innovision is a principal member of the NFC Forum and currently chairs the tags and formats task force working group, helping to develop the future NFC standards for payment, ticketing, peer-to-peer connectivity and service initiation implementations.
