Directorate changes

 

Further to Broadcom International Limited’s announcement of 13 July 2010 stating that it had received valid acceptances from shareholders in the Company in respect of approximately 78.57 per cent. of the Company’s existing share capital and, together with its interest in approximately 10.53 per cent, of the Company’s existing share capital, it declared its recommended cash offer for the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of the Company to be wholly unconditional, the Company announces the following changes to its Board of Directors.

 

The Company is pleased to announce the appointments of Robert Rango and DeAnn Work to the Board of Directors as Directors.

 

Mr. Rango joined Broadcom Corporation (“Broadcom”) in March 2002 and became Vice President & General Manager of the Network Infrastructure Business Unit in October 2002. In September 2003 Mr. Rango became Group Vice President, Mobile & Wireless Group. He became Senior Vice President & General Manager, Mobile & Wireless Group in April 2005, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Wireless Connectivity Group in January 2006, and Executive Vice President & General Manager, Wireless Connectivity Group in February 2010. He also serves as a director and officer of certain Broadcom subsidiaries. From 1995 to 2002 Mr. Rango held several Vice President and General Manager positions at Lucent Microelectronics, a networking communications company, and Agere Systems, a semiconductor manufacturer, in its Optical Access, New Business Initiatives and Modem/Multimedia Divisions. Previously, Mr. Rango held various positions with AT&T Bell Laboratories for over ten years. Mr. Rango received a B.S.E.E. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and an M.S.E.E. from Cornell University.

 

Ms. Work joined Broadcom as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel in April 2009. From November 2007 until December 2008, Ms. Work served as Vice President and Senior Associate General Counsel of Safeco Corporation, a property and casualty insurance company that was acquired by Liberty Mutual Group in September 2008. Prior to Safeco, Ms. Work served as Senior Counsel for McKesson Corporation, a healthcare services and technology company, for four years, and prior to McKesson she served in a variety of consulting and business development roles for several technology and healthcare ventures.  Previously, Ms. Work was a corporate attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell.  Ms. Work received an A.B. from Princeton University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

 

Further, Malcolm Baggott and Ian Buckley-Golder have resigned with effect from today from the Board of Directors. The Company wishes to thank Messrs. Baggott and Buckley-Golder for their significant contributions to the Company over the past years and is extremely grateful for their professional advice and guidance in steering the Company to its leading position in the NFC and RFID markets.
